November New Moon

The November New Moon, occurs in the solar constellation of Libra and in the lunar constellation of Vishakha.
AEST 15 Nov 1607, MST 14 Nov 1007pm, GMT 15 Nov 0507am.
This auspicious moon marks the night of Deepavali, or the Festival of Light, known as Kathagai Deepam in South India. This amavasya or New Moon celebrates the victory of Light over darkness, and is a major festival across India. We celebrate the Light of awareness, our inner Light, a reflection of and unique expression of the Celestial Light, and its triumph over forces of ignorance and darkness.
The new moon occurs in the Nakshatra of Vishakha, ruled by the powerful dual deities of Indra and Agni. Vishakha teaches us to find balance and integration. Represented by a forked triumphal archway, symbolising success and victory. Yet also, power and the intensity of seeking goals to the detriment of relational transformation. The auspicious Deepam festival celebrates the primordial Divine Light, and connects us to the fork of Agni as deified fire. Agni reveals the mystery of light at play in the world, the fire of purification and transformation sculpting shaping and deepening our mysterious lives.
As I write now sweet astropeeps, I watch this light dance upon the turquoise ocean. Sparkling shards of light painting the world into being. Deepam’s light on this night, beneath the archway of Visahka and the intense shakti of Indragni is a blessing upon our lives and world, at this time. Deepam reminds us of Light's return, the victory of Light, the rebirth of the Moon, that this is all a play of Light, in one sense a harmless wave illusion.
And yet Indragni plugs us directly into the power source of the universe. Through our desire for freedom, to integrate, fully inhabit and express the beauty of the Divine Light in the world. As the new moon occurs close to a crossing over place between the constellations of Libra and Scorpio, the Moon here is close to debilitation, so feelings of a dark Moon may linger, so be gentle with your dear self, rest, take baths and lie low for the first day of the waxing moon.
My Brilliant Image. By Hafiz
One day the Sun admitted,
I am just a shadow.
I wish I could show you
The Infinite Incandescence
That has cast my brilliant image!
I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The astonishing Light
Of your own Being!
You must give birth to your images.
They are the future waiting to be born.
Fear not the strangeness you feel.
The future must enter you long before it happens.
Just wait for the birth, for the hour of the new clarity.
